Franklin Plant Closure

Employee Resources

November 10, 2009
Dear International Paper employee,
We at Opportunity Inc. understand the disruption and personal difficulties that arise from a significant plant closure. To help make this time, and your transition to a new career, as simple and fast as possible, we are working with federal, state and local partners to coordinate the various benefits to which you may be entitled and to provide useful, timely information.
This web page has information to assist you in moving through the process of finding a job that fits your interests and meets your needs. These resources, together with personal assistance at one of our One Stop Workforce Centers, will provide tools and resources to smooth your transition.
In “What to Do After a Layoff”, you will find a handy checklist to help you begin your transition. “What is a One-Stop Workforce Center?” provides more information on Opportunity Inc. and the services we provide to help you develop the skills needed to find that next career and assistance in landing that next job. Our “Orientation Presentation” provides an overview of the One Stop Workforce Center and the process for accessing your benefits. Lastly, the Resources Guide has a wealth of information in an easy to print PDF format.
Opportunity Inc. will update this site with new information and resource materials periodically, so come back often.  Opportunity Inc. is dedicated to helping you through this difficult time.
Sincerely,

Judy Begland
